Afternoon tea
Every year, our company flies all the employees and the spouses to somewhere in the east coast to have a weekend getaway with a company dinner. This is a great opportunity for us to get to spend some time together as co-workers. Since we are mostly consultants, we don’t get to see each other day to day like many co-workers do. This year the trip was to Biltmore house at Asheville, NC.
My husband and I have been there before several years ago, seven to be exact. This was a short weekend trip without the kids. Since we have seen the Biltmore house before, this time we did not do the house tour. Instead we walked around the town and visited little shops and enjoyed spending some quite time together.
While walking around in the afternoon, we ended up finding a small tea house. Although we are huge tea fans, my husband was not very enthusiastic at the beginning. Little tables with lace table clothes, cute tea cups, tea sandwiches, desserts, and scones. You get the picture… Not a dream place for a guy…
But he was a good sport. Both the food and the tea were great. We ended up sitting there for quite a while, enjoying ourselves.
Sometimes it is just better not to plan everything and just go with the flow. It is amazing what little surprises wait for you around the corner…
