I grew up with cold winters, lots of days off from school, and sledding into the night on a close by park when I was a kid. I am not a big fan of cold but I love snow and skiing.
Where we live now, we don’t get to see snow very often. And when we get it, it is usually for a day, few inches. When we had the winter storm last week, it was a delight for the whole family. It snowed all day Thursday and to my surprise school was not out. Usually the school is out with the idea of a snowy day here.
When kids came after school, we made a snow man and played in the front yard. It did continue to snow into the night. The next day, our snow man was almost covered up again.
The school was out on Friday. We baked Valentines Day cookies, made hot chocolate, and stayed home all day. Kids went to the back yard and made bunch of snow angels.
I love how snow days make you to slow down and enjoy the day. I love picking up my cup of tea by the fireplace and watch kids play.
