Before we moved to this house, we have added a mudroom to it by taking some space from our 3 car garage. It is a great space where we keep kid's activity stuff, coats, shoes, even a drawer for snacks.
This room is also my exercise room. My treadmill has been broken for the last few weeks but hopefully it will be fixed very soon. We are eagerly waiting for some parts. When I say we, I mean me and the guy who is going to change me arm and a leg to fix it...
Right next to the treadmill, the wall has bunch of cables and controllers. Our wireless device is there too. I have been looking into a creative way to cove this mess up but at the same time to be able to access the Internet. We got a box built around it when the room was being built. Then we decided to put a canvas picture on it.
I have a friend who has done this before and I followed her guidance.
First thing I had to do was to find a picture with great resolution since this is a pretty big area. http://www.istock.com/ has thousands of pictures. I was able to find a collage of pictures of windows from Venice, Italy. I first looked for some nature shots but I thought this would be less boring after looking at it few years. We paid for the picture and downloaded it.
Then my creative friend, ordered the picture from a web site where they print it on a canvas any size you want.
After the canvas arrived, my husband and my friend's husband built the wooden frame and stapled the canvas to it. They did a great job. It looks so good now.
If only my treadmill was working...
