Towards the end of the week, we headed to Whistler. We did not intend to ski but only for kids to do some tubing. On the way up to the mountain, we saw some beautiful falls. It was quite cold (still ski season). At this point of the trip, I was not feeling very good. I am not sure if I got some sort of virus or if the altitude affected me in some way. I tried to take it easy as much as I can.
When we reached Whistler we took the gondola between the two peaks. The view was amazing. It was quite high and the bottom of the gondola was glass. Kids had a blast.
Then we headed for tubing. To my surprise, neither one of the kids complained about walking up the hill many many times. I had no worries about Sude but I was certain Korman was going to take frequent breaks. But I was completely wrong. Both of them went up and down many many times for 1.5 hours. It was snowing like crazy at one point of time but it certainly did not stop them.

Spring break - Drive around Victoria Island
After few days at Victoria, we drove around some to see different parts of the island. We stayed on the coast close to the main land since we only had few days. It is absolutely beautiful out there. The mountains, trees, the water... Although it was rainy some days, we still enjoyed nature.
This is what we love about road trips. The unexpected stops that you make and the things you see. We stopped by a little glass stop and got to see how how glass was blown. We ended up buying a Christmas ornament to remember this adventure.
We also stopped by this store called "Goats on Roof". A friend of mine has recommended it. It is store that is somewhere in the middle of World Market and Whole Foods. They had great food and we had lunch there. The most fun thing though was the roof of the building had grass. I think normally they have goats up there but that day, the goats were not there because of the rain...
I love this picture of Sude...
In those few days we spent a lot of time in ferries since that is the only way to travel sometimes. It was lots of fun and quality time. We got to play cards, read, color, chat, and just hang out as a family...

Spring break - Victoria Island
After Vancouver, we headed to Victoria Island. The ferry ride was lots of fun. We ended up seeing few killer whales on our way. We spent the afternoon walking through the streets and taking pictures with various stuffed animals.
The next morning we had a great breakfast at Blue Fox Cafe. I had the french toast... It was to die for. But around the same time my headaches started.
We spent the morning in BC Museum. It was a very cool museum with lots of fun interactive exhibits for the kids.
We even looked for gold in a river bed.
Then we headed to the Miniature Museum. This was a small museum but it was delightful. Kids had great time since you could control trains, lights, etc.
We finished our day at a great Italian restaurant. The food was great and there was live music. I was not feeling very good that night (chills, fever, etc), so Korman and I headed to the hotel pretty quickly. Sude made a great drawing of the band while having dinner. She gave it to them before they left. My husband was smart enough to take a picture of the drawing. I heard they loved it...

Spring break in Canada...
On spring break we went to Victoria, Canada. It was a great trip. I got a little sick towards the end but we still had great time. I was grateful for the extra two days that we had when we came back though. When you do a road trip type of vacation, you need a "vacation" from your vacation.
We started the trip in Vancouver. It was a rainy day which seems to be the norm here but we still did lots of things. We walked in Stanley Park and saw the totem polls.
Had dessert and hot chocolate...
Had a great breakfast in a restaurant where we had to donate five dollars since we could not finish the food that we had in our plates.
Then we took the ferry to Victoria Island. On the way to Victoria we saw a group of killer whales on a distance. The ferry was lots of fun... They had a great restaurant and we got to play bunch of card games with the kids.
In Victoria we stayed in famous Empress hotel. The hotel was very nice and it was in a great location...

Geneva, Switzerland
We finished our trip to Europe at Geneva, Switzerland. I have never been there before and it was nice to talk on the streets, enjoy a baguette sandwich, coffee, and chocolate.
We got to see the Red Cross and Red Crescent museum which was very humbling.
Chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate... I ate some and bought lots for later... At the end I was ready to go home to my kiddos. One week away; it was kind tough...

Food in France...
The food in France was absolutely amazing. Every meal was an experience. The food itself was not a lot but it was so satisfying.
Instead of having one giant main course, everything is arranged around a full course and the eating experience. Even though we had many full course meals with cheese and dessert, I never left a meal stuffed. Another testament that it was not too much was no weight gain after eating like that for 10 days. Walking everywhere also helped...
