CA Roadtrip - Day 1

We usually spend our summers where I and Cem grew up. This year, my mom and my in laws came in to stay with us in the spring. They got to spend lots of time with the kids. Also with moving to a new house, we decided to stay in US and do a road trip to CA.

We (I) did lots of planning. I got to ask people that I work with in Ventura what to do, where to stay, how long to stay,etc. With a 10 day plan in hand and hotel reservations, we picked up our rental car on Friday morning with a packed trunk. That is the thing about vacationaing in CA. You have to take clothes for all 4 seasons.

Our plan was to take our time, follow the schedule but at the same time see where the road takes us.

A little after we left Ventura, we stopped to get some fruits. We found out that we could go to the back and pick raspberries ourselves and eat as much as we want. We did pick different fruits in the past but not raspberries before. It was a great start to our trip.

We drove up to Pismo beach for lunch. We had some fish and chips for lunch and walked around the pier and spent few hours sitting at the beach and enjoying the sun.

In the afternoon we drove to Morro Bay.

We strolled and did window shopping in cute seaside stores.

We ended the day with some wine and sea food. Everyone went to sleep very fast for sure...
