LA and up the coast - Day 2

We started the day at a crepe place. It was recommended to us by a friend but I cannot seem to remember exactly where it was. It was close to one of the piers but not sure which one. Kids were in love with nutella crepes. Not that we were not...
Then we headed to Santa Monica beach/pier. We sat close to the pier and enjoyed the sunny morning. Sude and Cem made sand castle, while Korman relaxed with me.

Around lunch time we went to the pier. Kids enjoyed the rides. While Korman opted for more kiddy rides, Sude rode with his dad in a little more scary ones.

For lunch we had grilled fresh fish, fried calamari, and fried oysters. And did I mentioned cold beer...

Then we headed north towards Ventura. On the way, we stopped by Malibu, enjoyed the beach and watched a surf competition.

In Ventura, we headed to Tony's Pizza before the hotel. This is a little shack but has the best pizza ever. It is very famous and gets lots of celebrity customers. It has been open for a long time. This is Tony...
We were so lucky he was there and made our pizza.

Read the credit sign... Pretty funny...

This is how the pizza gets served... Ventura was 30 degrees colder than LA. We did not dare to sit outside. Instead we ate our pizza right by the oven watching and listening Tony's stories. Sude decided to be a "pizza maker" when she grows up... By the way, hands down the best pizza we have ever had.
