We have started our day at Lee Vining with a breakfast of waffles. I must enclose the fact that I have gained 5 pounds in this trip. Way too much good food...
From there, we headed to see the volcanic craters around the lake. To my surprise they are not that old, only 600 years old...
Then we went to see the rock formations around the lake. The lake is pretty salty, kind of similar to sea...
From there we headed to Yosemite National Park through the Tioga Pass. Absolutely stunning...
After we got into the park, we headed for a train up to Dog Lake. It was not easy. At one point of time, Korman was climbing up chanting "I hate hiking". Having snacks definitely helped. We stopped many times and took snack and water breaks. After 1.5 miles later, it was so worth it. Some of the hikers that were going up with us, cheered Sude and Korman at the end. They could not believe that it was their first "true" hike.
You can see some of the brave rock climbers if you pay attention closely to the below picture...
I was totally amazed with the beauty of nature. Also I was more amazed with the way that the park was kept. It was kept "natural". There were few hotels, shops, and gadgets of modern word.
The wind brushing through your face... The crisp air... What a treat it was...
For kids, the treat was to spend 45 minutes in a bubbly hot tub... I did feel bad for the person who was going to clean the tub after them...
