On our second day at Ayvalik, we spent the morning hanging out by the beach and taking naps!
In the afternoon we left Ayvalik for Sirince. On the way, we stopped at Selcuk to eat Cop Sish which is basically tiny pieces of meat on a skewer with flat bread, rice, and salad. It was really good and kids really liked them. Me and my husband are very used to traditional Turkish cuisine so it was not an issue for us to find something to eat and enjoy it in this part of Turkey, like fried oysters, grilled octopus, stuffed zucchini flowers. But at times, it has been challenging for the kids. We tried to make them at least try the food even if at the end they ended up not eating it. But this lunch was a success. Korman especially liked the tiny piece of fat they put at the beginning of each skweer.
After this late lunch, we headed for Sirince (which is read as Shirinje) I think this stop was the highlight of our trip. We stayed here:

It was the cutest little hotel. They added a bed to our room and made the couch another bed. Every piece of furniture and decoration was well thought and represented this little village.
They served breakfast and dinner in the small garden and I could not wait for the morning to see what we were going to be served.
We spent the rest of the day just hanging around the little town...
I bought one of the dresses that was hanging up on the store in the below picture... The blue and pink one are the same style and I bought a gray one which has gotten so many comments every time I wore it. Sometimes you find little gems in most unexpected places...
Sirince is famous with it's fruit wines like apricot, blackberry, melon, etc. We stopped by one of the shops and tasted bunch of them. And left with 4 bottles of wine...
Shops were filled with olive oils, vinegars, jams, soaps, toys, hats, and clothes. It was fun to walk around and look for little treasures.
We walked the tiny streets and finally headed to our small hotel. After kids went to bed, we sat outside with one of the managers and enjoyed one of the wines and some Turkish nuts. He told us about the history of the town until a couple came in to eat dinner at 10:00 pm...
Seriously...
I am not even sure what time they left...We were sleeping in our "princess bed" as Sude eloquently put it...
What a wonderful day.
